Exploding Numbers
Learning numbers can be fun with this number stencils painting activity. You can use the same technique to paint numbers onto your craft projects.

Supplies Needed
- A4 or Letter size cardstock
- Construction paper or drawing paper (9" x 12")
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Masking tape
- Tempera or poster paint
- Paint brushes or roller brushes
STEPS
1Print out or draw numbers.
Print out this Medium-sized Numbers - Set 1 on A4 or Letter size cardstock. You can also draw your own numbers on cardstock or construction paper.
2Cut them out.
Cut out the numbers.
3Tape the numbers.
Put masking tape at the back of each number. Stick the numbers onto a sheet of 9" x 12" construction paper or drawing paper. Leave a gap of at least 2 inches between the numbers.
4Prepare the paint.
Prepare different colors of tempera or poster paint. Add some water and mix well.
5Paint around each number.
Paint around each number with outward strokes. You can use one or several colors on each number.
Using a roller brush is an easy and fun option for young kids.
6Let the paint dry.
After painting all the numbers, set the picture aside to dry.
7Remove the numbers.
Once the paint dries, remove the numbers to reveal the "exploding" number silhouettes you've created!
