Make homemade puffy paint using flour, salt and some paint. Load the colored paste into squeeze bottles to use them for your art activities and craft projects.
In a bowl or large container, measure out 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup fine salt and 1 cup water.
2Mix until free of lumps.
Mix the ingredients together until they form a paste that is smooth and free of lumps.
You can adjust the consistency of the paste. If you find it too runny, add some more flour or if it's too thick, add a bit more water.
3Divide the mixture.
Divide the mixture into the desired number of color batches.
4Add some paint.
Add a small dollop of poster paint or tempera paint to each batch.
5Mix well.
Mix well until the paste is evenly-colored. Add more paint if you want to achieve a more intense hue.
6Make more colored paste.
Make several colors of paste.
7Place in squeeze bottles.
Load the colored paste into squeeze bottles (e.g. empty glue bottles).
Use a funnel if the bottle's opening is small. If you mixed your colored paste in paper cups like I did, you can simply squeeze the cup's mouth to create a spout.
8Use the colored paste.
Use the colored paste as you would use puffy paint. Check out some crafts you can make in the section below.
