Basket of Flowers
Create an easy two-dimensional paper basket and fill it with paper flowers. This is a great craft to make for spring, Mother's day, Valentine's day, or any day you want to cheer up someone with a handmade basket of flowers. Printable basket and flower templates are included for super easy crafting.

Supplies Needed
- Printable A4 or Letter size cardstock (brown or your preferred basket color)
- Printable A4 or Letter size paper (in various colors for the flowers)
- Green construction paper or craft sticks
- Scissors
- Glue stick
STEPS
1Print out the basket template.
Print out any of these basket templates. If you chose the medium-sized or large basket templates, print the first page twice. The printed template should have two main basket pieces and one handle.
2Cut out the template.
Cut out all three template pieces.
3Glue the handle.
Glue the ends of the handle onto the top portion of a basket piece.
4Apply glue.
Apply glue along the outer edge of the basket piece. Remember to leave out the top.
5Glue the two basket pieces.
Glue the second basket piece on top of the first, aligning them at the edges.
6Decorate the basket.
Decorate the basket with stickers, bows, buttons, beads, and lots of other materials. You can also draw patterns or add some sparkle with glitter glue.
You can also create a woven basket effect by gluing short strips of paper or washi tape into neat rows. Trim the excess length of paper strip or washi tape at the edges of the basket.
7Make some flowers.
Some flower-making ideas that you can try:
- Draw - draw, color, and cut out your own flowers.
- Print - print out any of these flower sets or these flower shape sets. Color and cut out the flowers.
- Fold - fold and cut your own paper flowers following our instructions for making folding paper flowers.
- Craft - make colorful coffee filter flowers.
8Add stems.
Make stems by cutting 4-inch long strips of green construction paper or cardstock. You can also use craft sticks or pipe cleaners as stems. Glue a stem at the back of each flower.
9Put the flowers in the basket.
Place the flowers inside the basket through the basket's top slot. Trim the stems if they're too long.
10Use your basket of flowers.
Your basket of flowers can be carried around or glued to a paper background.

Make a lovely basket of flowers for your loved ones on their special day. Include a note or a small greeting card inside the basket.
Include a mini greeting card.
Make a handle for your mini greeting card just like the stem you made in Step 8. Glue the handle at the back of the greeting card. Arrange the greeting card among the flowers in the basket.
Use patterned cardstock.
Print out the basket template on patterned or printed cardstock for a basket with an interesting textured look.
