1Prepare the main box.

A shoebox or a tissue box can be used as the bus or truck's main body. If you're using a shoebox, glue the lid onto the box.

2Glue a smaller box.

Look for a smaller box for the bus or truck's front section. The small box's width should be about the same as the main box's height. Trim the small box's height as needed. Glue the two boxes together.

3Prime the boxes.

Paint the boxes with white acrylic paint.

4Paint the bus or truck.

Once the white primer is dry, paint the bus or truck with your preferred colors of acrylic paint or poster paint. You can paint the windows and other details now or add these later in Steps 5 and 6.

5Add details.

Instead of painting the details, you can wait for the painted bus or truck to dry before adding them. Cut out white paper rectangles and glue them on as windows while a long strip cut out of black paper can be glued on as a fender.

Buttons , plastic gems, sequins or small coins are interesting materials to use as headlights and tail lights. For this fire truck, a glue stick cap was glued on top as a siren.

Draw details with crayons, colored pencils or markers. Don't forget to draw passengers on the paper windows.

6Create wheels.

Prepare 2 or more toilet paper rolls. Trim the TP rolls to match the width of your box vehicle.

Make wheels by drawing and cutting out circles from black construction paper. The wheels should be equal to or larger than the TP roll's diameter. Draw a small white circle at the center of each wheel. Glue a wheel at each end of a TP roll.

7Attach the wheels to the truck.

Use white glue or hot glue to attach the TP rolls at the bottom of the vehicle. You can put more than two pairs of wheels. Some trucks actually have as many as 22 wheels!

8Add a string.

If you want to make your truck or bus into a pull-along toy, tape a string from inside the front section of the vehicle.
