1Make a tree trunk.

Draw an outline of a tree trunk on a sheet of drawing paper or construction paper. Color the trunk with brown crayon or oil pastel.

2Prepare the paint.

Prepare red, yellow, orange and brown washable finger paint or tempera paint in a palette. Water down the paint to your preferred consisency.

3Finger paint some leaves.

Dip your finger onto one color of paint and start finger painting some leaves on your tree's branches.

4Fill the tree with leaves.

You can use one finger or all of your fingers for painting. Paint with all the colors in your palette until you've filled the tree with autumn leaves.

5Paint a ground.

Finger paint a ground at the base of your tree. Move your finger from side to side to spread out the paint.

6Paint some fallen leaves.

You can also finger paint some fallen leaves on the ground or paint on birds, clouds or whatever detail you like.
