Draw a monkey and a bunch of bananas on paper or cardstock. You can also print out this monkey and bananas on A4 or Letter size cardstock.
2Cut them out.
Cut out the monkey as well as the bunch of bananas.
3Color the monkey and bananas.
Color the front and back of both monkey and bananas.
4Prepare the construction paper.
To make the tree trunk, prepare a 12" x 18" sheet of green construction paper.
5Make a tall cone.
Roll the construction paper into a tall and narrow cone. Insert a paper cup at the base to provide support and to define the size of the tree's base. The tip of the cone should have a small opening (around 1½" to 2" diameter) for the leaves.
6Tape the edges.
Tape the edges of the rolled construction paper.
7Tape the paper cup.
Trim off any excess length of paper at the base of the tree, then tape the paper cup to the base of the tree.
8Cut along the vertical lines.
To make the leaves, prepare a 9" x 12" sheet of craft foam. Draw 5 evenly-spaced lines along the length of the foam sheet. Allow for a 2-inch margin at the top of each line. Cut along the lines.
9Round out the tips.
Round out the tips of each strip to make a tapering shape.
10Roll the foam sheet.
Carefully roll the foam sheet.
11Place the leaves on the tree.
Insert the straight end of the rolled foam sheet through the opening at the top of the tree trunk.
12Open up the leaves.
Open up the leaves one at a time.
13Place the bananas on the tree.
Fold the banana stem towards the back. Hook the stem onto the top edge of the tree trunk.
14Fold the monkey's tail.
Fold the monkey's tail towards the back. Curl the tail. You can also bend it on a couple of points along its length for a crooked tail.
