1Prepare the snowflake arms.

Your will need three 6-inch long pieces of wire or pipe cleaner to create a snowflake with six arms.

To achieve this, you can either cut florist wire into three 6-inch long pieces or cut two pipe cleaners in half to come up with 6-inch long pieces.

2Join 2 pipe cleaners.

Twist 2 pipe cleaners together in the middle so that they form an "X".

3Add the third pipe cleaner.

Twist the third pipe cleaner around the first two to complete the shape of a 6-sided snowflake. Adjust the position of the snowflake arms so that they are evenly spaced.

4String some beads.

String different sizes of glass or plastic beads through one snowflake arm.

5Lock after the last bead.

Fold down the tip of the pipe cleaner over the last bead.

6String more beads.

String beads on the rest of the snowflake arms following Steps 4 and 5.

7Attach a string.

To be able to hang your snowflake, tie a thin string below the last bead on one of the snowflake arms.

Your beaded snowflake looks charming as it is but if you want to challenge yourself with a more detailed ornament, follow the rest of the steps below.

8String beads on 2" pipe cleaners.

Cut a 12-inch pipe cleaner into six 2-inch long pieces. String small beads through each piece. Leave about a ¼-inch margin on both ends of each pipe cleaner.

9Position a 2" beaded pipe cleaner.

Take one of the 2" beaded pipe cleaners. Connect the ends to two adjacent snowflake arms. The ends should be positioned at roughly the same point on the two snowflake arms.

10Position all 2" beaded pipe cleaners.

Similarly position the other 2" beaded pipe cleaners around the rest of the snowflake arms to form a ring.

11String beads on 1½" pipe cleaners.

Cut a 12-inch pipe cleaner into six 1½" long pieces. String one large and one medium-sized bead on each pipe cleaner. Fold the tip of the pipe cleaner over the topmost bead. The remaining length of pipe cleaner at the bottom end should at least be ¼".

12Position a 1½" beaded pipe cleaner.

Connect the bottom end of a 1½" pipe cleaner between two middle beads on the 2" pipe cleaner you positioned in Step 9.
