1Find a shaking container.

Find a container for your paper. Choose from any of the options below.

a.)  Canister - a tall can with lid like a Pringles potato chip can.

b.)  Plastic tub - a tall plastic tub with lid such as an ice cream or yogurt tub.

c.)  Box - a flat box with lid such as a gift box or shoebox.

2Place paper inside the container.

For a canister or tub, cut paper to fit rolled inside the container. The paper should lay as close to the walls of the container as possible.

For a box, cut paper to fit the bottom of the box.

3Prepare the paint.

Prepare various colors of tempera or poster paint in small bowls or containers. Add some water and mix well.

4Place some marbles in paint.

Place 2 to 3 marbles in one bowl of paint. Use a spoon to move the marbles around until they are thoroughly coated with paint.

5Put the marbles in the container.

Scoop out the marbles from the paint and place them inside your shaking container.

6Shake the container.

Put the lid on, then start shaking your container.

7Remove the marbles.

Remove the lid, as well as the marbles.

8Repeat with other colors.

Repeat the process (Steps 4 to 7), working with one color at a time.

9Remove the paper.

Once you've marble painted using all colors of paint, carefully remove the paper from the container. Lay it out flat on a table to dry.
