1Mark the middle of the paper.

Start out with a sheet of A4 or Letter size cardstock. Fold in half and crease only at the corners. Unfold. The crease helps mark the middle of the paper.

2Fold the left side towards the middle.

Place the cardstock in a horizontal position. Fold the left side towards the middle.

3Fold the right towards the middle.

Fold the right side towards the middle, this time overlapping it slightly over the left flap.

4Color the flaps.

These pair of flaps make up the front of your greeting card. Color them with crayons or paint them using tempera or poster paint. I used watercolor pencils on mine.

When painting, place paper underneath the flaps to protect the inside of your greeting card.

It is also easy to color or paint the greeting card with the flaps open or unfolded.

5Print out the necktie template.

We have four printable necktie templates that you could choose from. There's a striped necktie, a starry one, a necktie with smiley faces, and of course, a plain one for those who want to make their own unique necktie design.

Print out your chosen template on A4 or Letter size cardstock.

6Color the template.

Color the necktie as well as the collar. The collar should be the same color as the greeting card. Leave the tabs (the rectangular section bordered by dotted lines) uncolored on both the necktie and collar.

7Cut out the template pieces.

Cut out the necktie as well as the collar.

8Fold the necktie tab.

Fold the tab on top of the necktie towards the back.

9Fold the triangles on the collar.

Flip the collar so that the colored side is face down and the tips of the triangles are at the bottom.

Fold up the two triangles. Press each folded triangle at the base.

10Place the necktie inside the card.

Open the greeting card's flaps. Place the necktie inside the greeting card, positioning it in the middle.

11Glue the tab at the back.

Glue the necktie's top tab at the back of the greeting card.

12Glue the collar's tab.

Next, unfold the triangles on the collar. Glue the collar's tab at the back of the greeting card. When doing this, align the dashed line at the base of the triangles with the top edge of the greeting card. Align the tab's right and left sides with the creased edges of the greeting card's flaps.

13Apply glue on top of the necktie.

Flip the greeting card so that the front is facing up. Apply glue on the top corners of the necktie.

14Fold down the triangles.

Fold down the collar's pair of triangles. Press the collar onto the necktie to glue them together.

15Write your greeting.

Lift up the joined collar and necktie. Write your greeting on the center section of your greeting card.

You can also write your greeting on a separate sheet of paper then glue it onto the center of your greeting card.

16Close the flaps.

Close the front flaps of your greeting card, then pull down the necktie over the flaps.
