Superhero Masks

Supplies Needed
- A4 or Letter size cardstock
- Crayons, colored pencils or any water-based paint
- Elastic string
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Pencil
- Felt or fabric (optional)
STEPS
1Print out the mask template.
Choose from any of these superhero masks or masquerade masks. Print out the file on A4 or Letter size cardstock.
2Draw a mask design.
The mask templates are intentionally blank so that you can make a unique superhero mask. Draw your own designs on it. You can try to make it look like the mask of your favorite superhero or create your own character.
3Color the mask.
Color the mask with crayons, colored pencils, markers, oil pastels, or a water-based paint like tempera or poster paint.
4Cut out the mask.
Cut out the mask, including the eye holes.
5Punch holes.
Punch holes on the pair of tiny circles at the sides of the mask.
6Attach a string.
Cut a length of elastic string (mine is about 12 inches long) and tie the ends around the pair of holes on the mask.
Try on your superhero mask. It should fit snugly but not too tight. Adjust the length of the elastic if necessary.
More Ideas
Make felt or fabric masks.
For a more durable mask, cut out the paper template and trace around it onto felt or fabric. Cut out the felt or fabric mask, including the eye holes. Sew the ends of an elastic band onto sides of the mask or attach an elastic string following Steps 5 and 6 above.
Glue (use fabric glue or tacky glue) or stitch on decorations like fabric shapes, buttons, beads, and other notions.
