1Paint the paper cup.

Paint the outside of a paper cup with black acrylic paint. Set the cup aside to dry.

2Draw a pair of bat wings.

Draw a pair of bat wings on black construction paper. If you need a pattern, you can print out this bat wings template. Cut out one wing. Place it on a sheet of black construction paper and trace the edges with a pencil to make a wing shape.

Another way to use the bat wings template is to cut out a pair of wings from the printed page. Paint them black.

3Cut out the wings.

4Fold each wing at the base.

Fold about ½-inch from the base of each wing to create a tab.

5Glue one wing.

Glue a wing's tab 1-2 inches below the cup's mouth.

6Glue the other wing.

Glue the other wing on the opposite side of the cup.

7Create ears.

Cut out a pair of small triangles from black construction paper to make the bat's ears. Glue the bottom part of the triangles on the inside of the cup's mouth.

8Make a face.

Glue a pair of wiggle eyes. Cut out a mouth from paper or felt and glue it below the eyes.

9Punch a pair of holes.

Punch a pair of holes close to the cup's mouth—one above each wing.
