1Print out the template.

Choose from various sizes of pumpkins or jack-o'-lanterns from our printable templates below. Print out your chosen template on A4 or Letter size paper.

2Prepare a transparency film.

Place a sheet of A4 or Letter size clear transparency film on top of the pumpkin print-out.

3Align the two sheets.

Align the two sheets at the edges. Hold the sheets in place with tape or with paper clips.

4Trace the pumpkin outlines.

Use a black permanent marker to trace the outlines of each pumpkin on the transparency film. Color inside the pumpkin's eyes and mouth.

5Let the outlines dry.

Continue until you've traced the outlines of all the pumpkins on the template. Remember to shade inside the eyes and mouth.

Let the pumpkin outlines dry for a few minutes to avoid smudging the lines.

6Remove the template.

Remove the tape or paper clips. Carefully separate the template page from the transparency film.

7Prepare some glass paint.

Place some orange and green glass paint on your palette. You can get stained glass paints or window glass paints from craft stores or try making this homemade glass paint recipe.

8Paint the pumpkins.

Paint the pumpkins orange and the stems green.

9Let the paint dry.

Once done painting all the pumpkins, set the sheet aside to dry.

10Cut out the pumpkins.

Once dry, cut out the pumpkins. The homemade glass paint is water-based, so if you painted your pumpkins with them, avoid handling the suncatchers with moist hands.
