Make a charming heart-shaped envelope to hold Valentine notes. The lacing around the heart envelope and the bow at the center are great fine motor activities for young kids.
Unfold the paper to reveal a pair of identical hearts.
Instead of making your own paper hearts, you can also print out our heart templates. To make a pair of hearts, print out two copies of Heart (Set 1) on A4 or Letter size cardstock. Cut out the hearts.
If you wish to make concentric hearts, create a pair of smaller hearts following Steps 1 to 6 above or print out Heart (Set 2). For these second pair of hearts, you can use thinner paper instead of construction paper or cardstock.
Glue each small heart at the center of a big heart.
Decorate the front of your heart envelope, if you like. Write the name of the person you are giving the greeting to or write a greeting on the front as well.
Your folded Valentine note is safely tucked inside your beautiful heart envelope. Whoever opens it will have to carefully unlace the ribbon to read the message inside.
