Draw some mini cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles on paper or cardstock. Color them with crayons, colored pencils or markers.
We also have a printable vehicles set, both in black & white and color, that you can print out on A4 or Letter size paper or cardstock. Color the vehicles if you chose the black & white page.
Another neat idea for making the vehicles is to use craft foam, felt or fabric. The puppets would be much sturdier for hours of play and it's also a great way for kids to learn shapes.
Create a vehicle by first cutting the the basic body shape then adding smaller shapes like circles for the tires, quarter circles or squares for the windows, and so forth. Use felt or fabric glue to glue the parts together. Add accents like small buttons or stickers, if you like.
Come up with an interesting scene and some unconventional modes of transport as well—perhaps a busy city street, a trail filled with weekend cyclists, a snowy landscape with Eskimos on sleds, or a caravan of camels transporting people on a desert road.
A longer road is also a great idea. Create one by taping several sheets of construction paper together to make a wider picture.
