- Printable white cardstock
- Crayons or poster paint
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Rubber bands or elastic string
STEPS
1Print out the template.
Print-out either the blank mask template or the ready-to-color mask template from our Chinese Opera Mask templates.
2Draw your own mask design.
Draw your own mask design on the blank template. Do an image search on the web for Chinese opera masks to find inspiration and ideas.
3Color the mask.
Color or paint your mask.
4Cut out the mask.
Cut out the mask including the eye holes.
5Make a slit.
As an option, you can cut a slit following the bottom outline of the nose to allow for some breathing room when you wear the mask.
6Punch a pair of holes.
Punch holes on the pair of little circles on the sides of the mask.
7Attach rubber bands or a string.
Attach a rubber band on each hole and wear the mask. You can also cut a length of elastic string and tie the ends around the holes.
